Two Hawks Ranch is pleased to be partners with Karen Useman-Patton and Lilly Wood Show Stables.
Karen grew up showing horses on the A circuit and competed in everything from short-stirrup hunters to the Jr. Hunters, winning top 10 at Jr Hunter finals in 2006. She also competed in the JR/AO Jumpers as a junior rider. Karen helped bring IEA to Colorado, all while still in high school. Karen has competed at IEA nationals two years in a row! Karen attended Virginia Interment College on equine riding scholarships, and went on to compete on VI's IHSA team, where they won nationals. Karen graduated Virginia Interment College with a BA in Equine Studies, and has since been competing on the A circuit as a professional. She has numerous tri-color wins in the top divisions and has taken part in several National Hunter Derby's.
For the past 9 years Karen has taken her passion for horses and showing and shared it with her students, helping them learn the skills of sportsmanship and horsemanship along with the fundamentals it takes to be a winner in and out of the arena. Karen’s main focus with her students is teaching them to be the best horsewomen (and men) they can be, in a zero stress, fun environment.
After learning and apprenticing her skills and knowledge for more than a decade from some of Colorado’s top Hunter Jumper trainers Karen established Lilly Wood Show Stables so that she could provide the level of service and training that she expects and wants to offer from herself to her students every day.
Two Hawks Ranch is proud to have Chantal Simoneau teaching at our facility.
Chantal is a USDF Bronze Medalist who has enjoyed showing her and her horses’ ability in Hunter/Jumper and Dressage arenas for more than 25 years. Her ability as a dressage rider has allowed her to compete in Dressage though the fourth level.
Chantal grew up in a family of performing artists in Montreal Canada. As a child and youth she exhibited profound interest in art and horses. “As a child, if not drawing, I was begging my parents for riding lessons”
For much of her youth Chantal rode the fox hunt, showed and trained Hunters and Jumpers and worked with horses at the track. After graduating with a degree in Physiology from UC-Davis she worked on several large Thoroughbred breeding farms. For over 30 years as a Veterinary Technician Chantal she worked in all areas of Equine Medicine, Surgery and Practice management.
Today Chantal enjoys her true passion, riding Dressage and working in Horsemanship. In addition, Chantal loves training her own dressage horses, while teaching and sharing what she has been fortunate to learn with her students of all ages.
